Running Bucket List

Every RunDisney Race - I'm hoping to get the Princess Half Marathon checked off the list in February 2019 Banff Marathon Great Wall Marathon New York City Marathon *sigh* Boston Marathon dare to dream that I will someday be fast enough to qualify... Other than Boston, the big problem is that I am a teacher, and all of these runs (with the exception of the Princess Half Marathon) are during the school year for me, so logistically difficulty (or insane wastes of money - a big flight, hotels, only to quickly jet back to work).  Boston's timing also stinks for the school year, however, the big logistical problem with Boston is that I am slow 😅😅😅. To be continued... ('cause there certainly are more...)

Today's workout

7.4 miles in the bank.  The first mile or so was with Goldie, but much to both of our disappointment, I had to drop her off.  It was pretty early, and there were too many frisky squirrels in the neighbourhood.  I did the Run Eat Repeat plan, so 7 miles were today's run, with 1 minute of walking followed by 4 minutes of running, over and over again.  The run felt good.  It was cold, but beautiful and sunny.  I clocked in at my usual 11:40 MM (minutes/mile) pace, which I have made peace with (but that's another post).  Did you get a chance to squeeze in a workout? Even if it's supershort, it's better than nothing.  Go get it!

Race Calendar

So as a formerly injured runner, I am beyond excited to be back to running, and I'm all about the bling, baby! So races call my name.  Maybe it's superficial; maybe it's ridiculous, but I have run much further than I would have if I hadn't signed up for and planned for these races. Star Wars Dark Side Virtual Half Marathon - March 2018 As you will soon find out, I am a huge Disney fan, and am obsessed with the idea of doing a RunDisney race.  I actually signed up for the Princess Half Marathon either last year or the year before, but injured myself pretty badly, so dropped all running and had to let the race pass (luckily no flights had been booked).  As a teacher, I am limited in terms of which RunDisney races I can do (i.e. pretty much none), so I was super excited when I heard on Instagram that they were doing a virtual race.  You don't need to do all 13.1 miles in one go, so I have learned to learn from past mistakes, and just completed it this week in 6 mil...

Welcome!

Welcome to Run Your Best Life! I'm Sham.  I'm a Canadian, mother of four, wife, dog owner, sugar-crazed former lawyer turned teacher.  And I love to run.  What makes this blog different is that unlike most people all over the interwebs and social media, I'm not very fast.  This blog is my attempt to track my progress and also encourage others, especially when it comes to running and fitness.  So let's work together, and Run Our Best Lives!
